CachyOS Delivers Lead Over Arch Linux, Pop!_OS & Ubuntu On System76 Thelio Major
When it came to the AMD Radeon graphics performance, both Arch Linux and CachyOS were delivering nice leads over Ubuntu and Pop!_OS. That's not too surprising with both Arch Linux and CachyOS using the latest Mesa 26.1 drivers paired with Linux 7.0, which is newer than what's provided by Ubuntu 26.04 LTS or Pop!_OS 24.04.
CachyOS in these Radeon graphics tests wasn't yielding much of a difference from upstream Arch Linux.
When turning to Blender 5.1 performance on this Threadripper workstation and using the same Blender 5.1 release binaries on all tested platforms, both CachyOS and Arch Linux were providing for slightly faster render performance over Ubuntu and Pop!_OS.
Similarly, with the proprietary V-Ray and Indigo renderers were a slight lead on the Arch Linux based distributions.
