With the OpenFOAM CFD software the mesh time was faster with the latest Linux software while the overall execution time was slower and at the same time consuming less power than at launch.

The OpenRadioss software from Altair was faster with the latest Linux OS and on average consuming less CPU power than at launch.

With Pennant was trading slower performance out-of-the-box for a sizable reduction in CPU power use.

But for most of the HPC workloads tested on this Intel Core Ultra 9 285K Linux desktop, the latest software was delivering decisively better performance than at launch.
