With the Llama.cpp AI performance on the EPYC 9655P the results were a bit of a surprise... Text generation performance was similar across the tested Linux distributions but in the CPU prompt processing speed both CachyOS and Arch Linux were noticeably slower than the two Ubuntu releases tested on this server.

👁 PyTorch benchmark with settings of Device: CPU, Batch Size: 1, Model: ResNet-50. CachyOS was the fastest.

👁 PyTorch benchmark with settings of Device: CPU, Batch Size: 256, Model: ResNet-50. CachyOS was the fastest.

With PyTorch the performance was similar across the four Linux distribution releases.
