Framework 13 With AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series "Strix Point" Makes For A Great Linux Laptop

Across the multi-threaded creator workloads, the Ryzen AI 300 series in going up to 12-cores / 24-threads offers a lot more potential than Intel Lunar Lake topping out at 8 cores without SMT/HT.

Plus with Strix Point bearing AVX-512 thanks to its universal support across Zen 5(C) cores, creator workloads able to make use of Advanced Vector Extensions 512 performed much better than with the Intel competition.

It depends upon the workload for whether the Framework 13 or ASUS Zenbook S16 with the same Strix Point SoC was delivering greater power efficiency. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 has a higher power budget with the Framework 13 BIOS than with the ASUS Zenbook that allows for better raw performance while the performance-per-Watt was more of a toss-up, but in any case typically leading compared to the other laptops/SoCs tested.
