The Intel Lunar Lake CPU Performance Gains On Linux Over The Past Year
Both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome enjoyed some rather significant performance gains on Linux over the past year. Very nice performance gains across the board with the newer Ubuntu and newer Firefox/Chrome web browser releases. The CPU power consumption was similar across these benchmarks so in turn also a nice boost to the performance-per-Watt.
Code compilation speed was about the same then and now but with Ubuntu 26.04 was more power efficient.
With Llama.cpp on the Lunar Lake CPU cores the performance was mostly unchanged but again seeing better performance-per-Watt with Ubuntu 26.04.
