For those more likely to pursue a single socket Intel Xeon 6 Granite Rapids server, hopefully these 1S/2S Xeon 6980P benchmarks were helpful against other current Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC server processors. Similarly with having more DDR5-6400 vs. MRDIMM 8800 data for gauging the benefits of Multiplexed Rank DIMMs in different workloads.

👁 CPU power consumption

For reference, across all of the benchmarks carried out, the Xeon 6980P 1S configuration on average was pulling 322~330 Watts with a recorded peak of 547 Watts.

A single 128-core Xeon 6980P processor packs a punch and delivers significant uplift compared to prior generation Intel Xeon CPUs and being competitive to AMD 4th Gen EPYC processors. Going from a dual socket Xeon Ice Lake server to a single socket Granite Rapids server would yield much better performance while also a reduction in CPU power use.

Stay tuned for more Xeon 6 Granite Rapids benchmarks and other server performance tests later in the week.
