Linux 7.0 File-System Benchmarks With XFS Leading The Way

The random read performance with FIO was a race between EXT4, F2FS, and XFS. Btrfs was the slowest and with copy-on-write disabled was only providing marginally better performance on Linux 7.0.

FIO with 4K random writes continues to be typically led by XFS while EXT4 also picked up an occasional win.

For sequential writes, XFS was enjoying a huge lead over the other file-systems on this AMD EPYC Turin server with PCIe Gen 5.0 NVMe SSD storage.
