Loongson 3B6000 Benchmarks: How China's LoongArch CPU Compares To AMD Zen 5, Intel Arrow Lake & Raspberry Pi 5
A variety of open-source applications were successfully built for LoongArch64 as part of the benchmarking. Build times understandably slower than Intel Arrow Lake and AMD Zen 5 given the CPU design not being as advanced, relying on DDR4-3200, etc. The Loongson 3B6000 was much faster than the Raspberry Pi 500+ with its Arm Cortex A76 cores and NVMe storage within this keyboard computer.
For video encoding workloads the Loongson 3B6000 was well behind the latest Intel and AMD processors due to less LoongArch64 optimizations compared to the extensive hand-tuned Assembly for x86_64 with the likes of x265.
One of the most remarkable wins for the Loongson 3B6000 was with the C-Ray ray-tracer. The Loongson 3B6000 was matching the performance of the Ryzen 5 9600X... Yes, that's a 6-core / 12-thread AMD Zen 5 CPU compared to 12 cores / 24 threads with the Loongson 3B6000, but one of the most competitive results out of this round of benchmarking.
