NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Linux GPU Compute Performance Benchmarks
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 was delivering very strong OpenCL compute potential with great generational gains over prior GeForce GPUs. On a power efficiency basis the results were similar to the RTX 40 Ada graphics cards.
While CUDA remains the main focus for NVIDIA driver engineers, the OpenCL performance continues to perform very well on the new Blackwell GPU.
For those interested in Vulkan compute, the benchmarks carried out using VkFFT were also in great shape on this launch-day CUDA 12.8 driver for the GeForce RTX 5090.
Similarly, the Vulkan compute benchmarks with vkpeak were showing off the great compute potential of Blackwell.
