The PHP performance is also slightly faster on Ubuntu 26.04 thanks to upgrading to PHP 8.5.

For the code compilation benchmarks, Ubuntu 26.04 was slower than Ubuntu 24.04 and Pop!_OS 24.04. This isn't too surprising as from GCC 13 to GCC 15 there have been new compiler optimizations, better warning/error detection, and other enhancements made to benefit the resulting binary performance and developer experience but at the cost of slightly slower build times.
