Pop!_OS 24.04 vs. Ubuntu 24.04 LTS vs. Ubuntu 26.04 Development Benchmarks

With Ubuntu 26.04 the default OpenJDK Java version moves from OpenJDK 21 to OpenJDK 25, which does help the performance in some Java benchmarks but overall didn't affect the performance too much.

There wasn't too much to see overall from Pop!_OS 24.04 to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. But looking ahead toward Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and Pop!_OS 26.04, there are some performance improvements to look out for thanks to the upgraded Python, OpenJDK, and other newer software components. Regardless of your Pop!_OS or Ubuntu Linux preference, the new System76 Thelio Mira with AMD Ryzen 9000 series was running well on both thanks to the mature Zen 5Linux platform support.
