Across the initial set of Linux gaming and graphics benchmarks ran on the Radeon RX 9060 XT and re-tested on the other graphics cards, the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB came in at 1.27x the performance overall of the Radeon RX 7600 XT, which is a decent generational showing. Across this mix of workloads the Radeon RX 9060 XT also came in at around 88% the performance of the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, which retails for $429+ compared to the RX 9060 XT 16GB expected to be at $349+. With the pricing considered, assuming there is robust availability at or around the $349 price point, it provides competitive value against the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti.

The Radeon RX 9060 XT on average was consuming around 140 Watts with a peak of 182 Watts while the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti was consuming just 118 Watts on average and a peak of 180 Watts. The RX 9060 XT did come out well with good performance-per-Watt generationally from RDNA3 to RDNA4.

Aside from the performance that can vary a bit depending upon the particular game/workload and other factors, the other important aspect was that it was a smooth out-of-the-box experience at launch day for the Radeon RX 9060 XT. Like the RX 9070 series, all of the RX 9060 XT support is upstream and available for a while now within the Linux kernel and Mesa. It was a reliable experience at launch and with Linux 6.15 testing and some Linux 6.14 testing I hadn't encountered any stability issues or AMDGPU driver issues.
