With some of the I/O benchmarks there were slight performance improvements to find out of running Ubuntu 25.10 on this Ampere Altra workstation. But overall it would come out rather flat for the storage performance on Ubuntu 25.10 compared to 25.04.
In some of the heavy HPC-type CPU workloads the Ubuntu 25.10 release in some instances was providing slightly better performance, likely due to the switch from GCC 14 to GCC 15 and/or the newer Linux kernel version.
