Ubuntu 25.10 performance advantages over Ubuntu 24.04 LTS were minimal across the dozens of different workloads tested with the AMD Ryzen 9000 / Zen 5 desktop CPU support being quite mature at this point.

Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS / Ubuntu 25.10 were both 11~13% faster overall than Windows 11 25H2 on the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X series processors. Between the Ryzen 9 9950X and 9950X3D there didn't end up being any sizable difference at this stage between Windows and Linux for the AMD 3D V-Cache desktop processor.
