With Llama.cpp there is support for leveraging Intel AMX that allowed the Xeon 6980P to rack up a few wins for both performance and power efficiency. The workloads able to leverage Advanced Matrix Extensions (AMX) and/or the memory bandwidth or MRDIMMs is really where the Xeon 6 Granite Rapids processors can be competitive but the rest of the time it's a tough battle against the EPYC 9755 at the same core/thread count.
