TVs

Our team attempts to test 50+ TVs each year, using comprehensive testing methodology and tools like Calman Ultimate, a Leo Bodnar 4K HDMI Video Signal Lag Tester, a Murideo 8K SIX-G pattern generator and a a Klein K10-A colorimeter, one of the fastest and most color-accurate meters on the market. We then spend as much time as we can living with each TV in our homes, watching movies and playing games on an Xbox Series X or PS5, just like you would when you buy one of these TVs off the store shelf.

Throughout the years, Tom's Guide has tested several hundred TVs in this way and the manufacturers have never β€” nor will they ever β€” have a say in Tom's Guide's unbiased reviews.

Of course, while we encourage you to spend time with each individual review on the site, you may find one of our TV buying guides to be the best place to start your search when shopping for a new screen. These guides collate all the reviews into one place and are overseen by a team of experienced editors.

While most of the TVs we test are in the U.S., we have editors located in Australia and the UK who also publish reviews from time to time. If you don't see a TV reviewed here that you're looking for more information on, send us an email and we'll try to help as best we can.
