Capcom revealed an update for the coveted Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics title. The storied gaming company shocked fans by announcing a new quality-of-life patch for the array of games, announcing the news on Monday (April 14) via social media.
An exciting YouTube video showed off the game and everything that has changed since the title's initial September 2024 release, with plans to release it all on Wednesday (April 16). Here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming update.

Capcom's Title Update Is Speaking Directly To MVC's Fanbase
Capcom's YouTube video detailed several different updates coming to the collection of classics, such as Version Select, which allows the player to choose which iteration of X-Men vs Street Fighter to play between versions 960910, 961004, and 961023, a much-needed Offline Versus mode to allow for couch multiplayer because duh, and even a Resolution Option, which grants players the ability to increase graphics in Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes for smoother visuals and a smoother experience.
The update also has some goodies in store for those who love the art of the Versus franchise, such as the inclusion of a couple of remixes from Cap-Jam for the Theme of Captain America, Theme of Cyclops, Theme of Jin, and Theme of Captain Commando, which can be accessed in the game's jukebox feature. Furthermore, fans will be exposed to new artwork by Capcom artist Shinkiro.
Reactions to the news from Capcom have been enormously positive, especially considering that the company usually doesn't release patches for their collection-based titles. The fact that Capcom is still looking to keep the fanbase fed with new features, content, and quality-of-life updates shows a special commitment from Capcom to the community for games included in the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics.

But why is this important? Well, considering the last installment of the franchise, Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite didn't leave a particularly good taste in fans' mouths back in 2017; chances for a new entry were not high. But since the success of the Arcade Classics collection and Capcom appearing to care about the fanbase playing those iconic titles, fans have become hopeful that something—whether that be MVC 4 or something else Marvel related—could finally be a real possibility.
Until then, fans will have to make do with the beauty of titles past as Capcom gears up for the release of their latest title update for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics, available now on Nintendo Switch 1, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics title update releases on Wednesday (April 16).
