A high-pressure system over Europe is funnelling warm, dry air from the west into Finland, pushing temperatures toward spring-like levels.
Conditions on Thursday are mostly dry and sunny, with daytime highs in the south and west climbing to 5 to 8 degrees Celsius above freezing, unseasonably mild for this time of year.
"Spring is definitely in the air," said Yle meteorologist Matti Huutonen.
Up north, however, conditions are both chillier and wetter.
A low-pressure system over the north is bringing rain and slightly cooler temperatures to Lapland, though even there daytime highs are rising above freezing.
Huutonen noted that warm and sunny weather is expected to persist across the country for the rest of the week.
Drivers are, however, advised to keep their winter tyres on. Despite spring-like daytime warmth, overnight frosts are still common nationwide, leaving roads slippery in the mornings.
