Platinum Secret Rare

Platinum Secret Rare is a TCG-exclusive rarity which debuted in and is currently exclusive to the 2014 Mega-Tins, 2015 Mega-Tins, 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection, 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II, Quarter Century Bonanza, and Quarter Century Stampede. As its name implies, it features platinum-colored foil with the Secret Rare texture pattern in the same vein that Gold Secret Rare features gold foil with the Secret Rare pattern, with platinum-colored shatterfoil pattern in the name text. This rarity differs from Extra Secret Rare mainly due to the foil not covering the Attribute icon from the first releases and due to the fact that it doesn't cover the Pendulum Scales icons.

To date, each release of the rarity has differed in design:

• In the 2014 Mega-Tins, the foil covers the entire card face with the sole exception of the card text box and the Attribute icon.
• In the 2015 Mega-Tins, and the Rarity Collection series releases execpt the first 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection, the appearance is identical to the previous 2014 Mega-Tins print, but the foil now covers the Attribute icon as well.
• In the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection release, the foil no longer covers the entire card face and only extends to the silvered artwork border, card text box border, name, Attribute, and Spell/Trap Type icons.
