Enemy strikes Burshtyn, Dobrotvir TPPs – Shmyhal
On Saturday night, Russia struck Burshtyn and Dobrotvir Thermal Power Plants (TPPs), Ukrenergo national power company activated a request for emergency assistance from Poland, Deputy Prime Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal has said.
"Russian criminals carried out another massive attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Substations and 750 kV and 330 kV overhead power lines — the backbone of Ukraine's energy grid — were hit. The enemy also struck power generation facilities: Burshtyn TPP and Dobrotvir TPP," he said on Telegram channel.
Shmyhal said the nuclear power plant units were unloaded by personnel. As of now, four and a half to five emergency outage schedules have been applied throughout Ukraine, and special emergency outage schedules are in place in the eastern and northern regions.
The attack continues. Energy workers are ready to begin restoration as soon as the security situation allows.
The minister said Ukrenergo dispatcher has activated a request for emergency assistance from Poland.
As reported, Ukrenergo has introduced emergency outages in most regions of Ukraine as of Saturday morning due to another enemy attack.
