Azov first in Ukraine's Defense Forces to use robotic ground system to extinguish fire – National Guard
The Azov fire unit was the first in Ukraine's Defense Forces to use the Ukrainian-made Zmiy unmanned ground robotic system to extinguish a fire.
According to the press service of the National Guard of Ukraine, the fire broke out in a private residential area on the outskirts of Kramatorsk after a Russian attack hit a house.
"The Azov fire unit found that gas cylinders were being stored at the site of the fire. In order not to put the fighters at risk, it was decided to use the Zmiy robotic ground system. With its help, the fire was extinguished and prevented from spreading to neighboring homes," the unit said in a statement on Telegram.
"There was a threat of repeated shelling or FPV drones, so we took shelter. When it was safe, we resumed the work. Previously, in such fires, the Novator armored vehicle was used," a serviceman with the call sign "Berdiansk," commander of the fire unit of the 12th Azov Special Purpose Brigade said.
