Throughout many series on YouTube, the majority of screentime for the characters are on designated sets. Often these lack significance or remain faintly explored, but some have in-show context.

To promote various releases and initiatives for Minecraft Education, several shorts featuring Chicken and Agent mascots were produced, most notably the AI Adventurers series. Within these, the characters are presented living in a turquoise colored infinitude, presumed to represent a house. The location is consistent in color and scope, with a minimalist presentation wherein only essential objects are visible. This includes a desk, two different colored couches, and the robot vacuum cleaner.

The broom closet is an area within Mojang Studios, and the primary setting of Ten Things You Probably Didn't Know About Minecraft. The series revolves around M.A.R.I.L.L.A., an outdated computer that was discarded by Steve,[1] and tries to share often inaccurate trivia about Minecraft to pass the time. The room is visibly dark, filled with boxes, a plastic bucket, miscellaneous technology, and figurines of a creeper, pig, and block of redstone. In spite of resembling a room, complete with floorboards and a weighted door, it has been depicted as a white portable closet on at least one occasion. Due to M.A.R.I.L.L.A. mentioning being moved into a "new office,”[2] it's unclear if this is a second closet or simply the same one relocated.

The setting returns in How We Make Minecraft season 2, with M.A.R.I.L.L.A. once again filming her scenes in the space, conversing with Narrator from another room. Throughout the series it's not made clear if the closet is in front of his area or if they're communicating through video.[verify]

The studios are the main setting of The Secrets of Minecraft. The show is hosted by M.A.R.I.L.L.A. and Narrator, who are operating out of separate rooms themed to their personalities and history. M.A.R.I.L.L.A. films in front of an ornate fireplace, from the comfort of a red velvet chair under a green lamp, with several portraits of computers to the right side, and a creeper figurine, referencing a similar one from the broom closet. Narrator has a similar layout, but with a noticeably smaller fireplace and chair, a yellow lamp, a large bookshelf, and three portraits. One is a cropped version of Skull On Fire, while another depicts Mobbo.

Despite being able to readily converse and even partake in shared activities, both hosts are consistently shown to be in entirely different buildings. In one episode, Narrator reveals that he films in front of a live studio audience, a fact M.A.R.I.L.L.A. was unaware of and remains confused by. Another episode reverses the joke, with M.A.R.I.L.L.A. (presumably sarcastically) claiming Narrator works out of the deep dark, and she works out of the "Land of Bunnies and Hugs."

The coffee shop is the setting of How We Make Minecraft season 2, where Narrator takes on an undercover assignment from Jomang Studios to infiltrate Mojang Studios and leak game developer secrets. The shop consists primarily of voxel-style objects resembling a regular coffee shop, as opposed to traditional Minecraft style props, with visible plates, cups, bread, and a coffee maker. To the left is a curved display of various potions, cookies, pumpkin pies, and a cake. Behind that is a poster, which changes appearance every shot to tell a new joke.

Throughout the story, Narrator gradually rises up the ranks, from Coffee Boy, to Senior Coffee Boy, to Senior Tea Boy, to Coffee Extremely Overdone. In spite of this, he never leaves the coffee shop.

Throughout Minecraft Live, Minecraft Monthly, and miscellaneous videos such as Why You Must Watch Minecraft Live 2025!, Vu Bui films out of a newsroom. The layout remains consistent, with a wooden table, a coffee mug of usually either a creeper head or TNT, and glowing creeper faces on the wall. In certain videos, these will change colors.

The studio is the main setting of the Randy Peters Minecraft advertisements. Themed to the style of classic infomercials,[3] the series features the characters Randy Peters and his sidekick Cool Cat promoting various pieces of merchandise. In the first two videos, the studio itself is a peach wall with a border and minimal props, such as light fixtures, potted plants, and a cylindrical table for revealing toothbrushes. In CROCHET ALL DAY, the room is depicted in a hexagonal shape, with tanner walls, and more plentiful decorations, including paintings, phones, wall plants, chairs, carpets, two separate tables, and pottery. It's in this version of the set where Randy is shown interviewing Wayne Wheeler. This set reappears in PEZ THE MIC, albeit significantly darkened.

In front of the stage is a live audience, who will often participate in the antics of Randy or perform a ritual connected to whatever is being discussed. This area is pitch black with no furniture, save for the chairs the audience rely on.

The Ice Cubicle is the setting of the Ice Cube Claims Adjuster series, named as a pun on the person working out of it, Ice Cube. The series revolves around Cube working in an insurance firm, denying the losses and flubs of various players. The area resembles a typical cubicle for real life jobs, with a primarily beige color scheme and an assortment of sticky notes, a ball of rubber bands, cardboard boxes, and a light fixture. On the wall a poster can be seen for the Truth to Power tour, which was topical at the time of the series.[4] Displayed on the desk are various Minecraft toys, including a creeper head, a Mojang Studios water bottle, and a diamond pickaxe. Near a pencil holder is a framed picture of Greg, who works exactly underneath the Ice Cubicle.
