Dual crossbows are a duel wielded ranged weapon that can rapidly fire arrows from two crossbows at once.
Dual crossbows deal consistent damage per shot, and fire continuously while the ranged attack button is held down. They have a very high rate of fire, but deal less damage per shot to compensate.
