Basically, the name "hoglin" is never used in the game, so I think this page should be moved to "Ancient Warboar". -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  22:07, 29 June 2025 (UTC)

Oppose - The model is the exact same as the Ancient Hoglin from Minecraft: Portal Dash.Drour1234 (talk) 00:00, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
Isn't that still speculation though? Just 'cause it looks the same doesn't mean it's the same thing. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  00:12, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
It looking exactly the same does mean it is the same thing. However, if it has a name in the game files, then that would obviously take precedence.Drour1234 (talk) 07:58, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
It looking exactly the same really does not mean it's the same. Oh look, "cobblestone"! -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  17:11, 30 June 2025 (UTC)

Support, you are correct about no hoglins used in game, and warboars follow their ancient so yes I support

Oppose. Warboars, hence the name, are technically hoglins tamed by Horde of the Hunt piglins by painting them pink and tatooing them with those awkward glow-in-the-dark markings in order to use them against the hero rather than hunt them. Outside warboar-ship, they are hunted by those piglins, as noted by them running away from the piglin army in those hunting cutscenes. As such, a warboar is simply a hoglin but ignored by piglin hunters and are reserved for horde armies, and hoglins are hunting targets and not units, leaving warboars and lava launchers as the only hoglin subspecies used in battle. 👁 Image

Yeah true, plus is Minecraft Legends:Return of the Piglins, hoglins are in fact mentioned. -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  20:42, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

A few months ago I realized that hoglins exist within Minecraft Legends:Return of the Piglins. Therefore, I close this topic as 👁 Image

Should the closed discussion be deleted? I mean, all that it does is waste space. 👁 Image

Please see MCW:TPG. Archives are not deleteed, they are preserved. Does that tell you anything about what should happen to a closed discussion? -~- Nerdyguy2000   Talk   Edits  23:38, 12 November 2025 (UTC)

Hoglins

Even though the term "hoglin" is not used in-game, there are multiple hoglins in the cutscenes following the ancient hoglin. I made a draft about the hoglin species as they have the same biography as the ancient, plus they are used as units (warboars and lava launchers). 👁 Image
