Do you think that higher-quality hoes have more chances to give seeds? Calinou 17:01, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

I don't have the code for it, but I'd have to say from my personal experience that the hoes' quality does not matter. Alphap 22:03, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Hoe enchantment.

[edit source]

Notch thought about enchantments for the hoe by when hitting the wheat when its fully grown, it would drop more, but then he thought that the players would think of it being unnecessary, so he never added it.[citation needed] I couldn't found any proof after searching for hours. If someone can find proof of it, please post it. CrazyBliep (NL Admin) - 18 Februari 2012 15:33 (UTC)

HOW DO U USE A HOE IN MINECRAFT ON MAC? I WANNA BUILD MY GARDEN

Right click or check your settings to see what the use key is, then use that button on a dirt, grass, or mycelium block. #trigger_hurt(I|T|C) Check out my project! 12:22, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
"Right click" is a foreign concept on a Mac, since the mouse has just one button. But it can be simulated (control-click I think), or one could ditch the Mac mouse and get a real mouse with multiple buttons. Amatulic (talk) 00:34, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Hoe on dirt

When Minecraft Console Versions are saving the game, it can appear a message that tells you "Dirt can be faster collected by using a hoe than with hands" or something like this. I tried to test it but I think it's exactly the same. Any idea? --37.14.159.76 18:01, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

It may be a typo, as shovels are actually required. KnightMiner (t·c) 19:20, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

The achievements/advancements section

[edit source]
Latest comment: 4 July 20212 comments2 people in discussion

The achievements/advancements section repeatedly makes the word "hoe" show up in bold letters. However, I can't fix this issue. Is this an error, or should it be like this (ie is it like this on other pages)?23.28.31.25 19:22, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

That happens for circular wikilinks (linking to the same page the link is on). It's normal. Because the achievements are being pulled from a different page, and they all contain links, if any of those links happen to be the same as the page they're being pulled into, the link appears bold. If you removed the link from the source page, then hoe would not be linked on other non-hoe pages. So it's best to leave it as is. Amatulic (talk) 23:24, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

Reverted Trivia relating to profanity filter.

[edit source]
Latest comment: 3 May3 comments2 people in discussion

I added a bit under trivia because the profanity filter puts down #### for "hoe" if you fill a chest with hoes and make a sign saying so. My wife and I have been frustrated by this bit of the profanity filter until we finally found the option to turn it off. My edit was reverted. Is there a reason why? Is discussing the double meaning under "trivia" - only saying it has another, derogatory meaning - not allowed? Surely we're not the only people who have come across this, and it's pertinent to gameplay. Varkman (talk) 13:49, 3 May 2026 (UTC)

Is it always censored or is it context based? If its generally censored than a (more neutrally worded) trivia point would be valid I would say.  Nixinova  T ⁄ C  13:53, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
Ah. I turned the filter back on, and wrote "hoes" and it accepted it. I wrote "contains hoes" and it was censored. Varkman (talk) 14:02, 3 May 2026 (UTC)
