I tried opening http://assets.minecraft.net/1_9-pre3/minecraft.jar in the Wayback Machine. There was a snapshot dating October 6, 2011. It downloaded me a .jar file. Maybe that .jar file contains the original (pre-reupload) version. I could not check because there is no .json file for it. Please check it yourself. I played around a bit with the first reupload (the second upload), and I can confirm a few things. In the Creative inventory, the player spawns with 64 Enchanting Tables, 64 Bookshelves, 64 End Portal Frames, and 64 of the 'End Portal' technical block. 1- press windows+r and type %appdata%

2- go to .minecraft and go into versions

3- paste the folder named b1.9-pre3 in there

Second Image in the Gallery seems to be from the mislabled pre-release 4, as indicated by the proper end portal frame texture that wasnt present in pre-release 3 LucySebast (talk) 13:18, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

Do enchantments other than Feather Falling really exist in this version, or were they added in Prerelease 4?

I tried to downgrade a world from Prerelease 4 to get other enchantments, but that doesn't work. –LauraFi - talk 01:08, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

I'm not sure but I think that if you downgrade a world from a newer version to this one all enchantments already applied become Feather Falling. Now I can't verify tough. D62 13:55, 25 November 2025 (UTC)

Confirmed. The first chunk on the server generated with the Sky Dimension terrain generation. Pictures attached.

Third image shows air was generated down to the void. Last two screenshots were captured on release 1.3 for easy access to creative mode in the world for the screenshots, but I have confirmed it's there on the original server world. hazel, that's me. (talk) 12:18, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
