Can someone show me an example? This:

makes no sense to me. I do not see "19133" anywhere. Wwei23 (talk) 23:31, 27 January 2016 (UTC)

NBT is a binary format, you can't just open it in notepad. Even if you could, most files are compressed so you'd have to uncompress them first. Use an editor. MajrTalk

Can some tags be LoadPage and be load in other pages

[edit source]
Latest comment: 15 August 20181 comment1 person in discussion

For example, generatorOptions can be collapsed as a {{loadPage}} and linked in buffet and superflat.--SolidBlock (not good at English!) 03:24, 15 August 2018 (UTC)

Move to Java Edition level format

[edit source]
Latest comment: 17 December 20195 comments3 people in discussion

Since the Better Together Update, we generally specify Java Edition. Therefore, we should move this page. The Blobs👁 Image

If we do that we should make this page a redirect. SWinxyTheCat (talk) 18:53, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
No, this should be made a disambiguation page. Making it a redirect would still imply that Java is the "main edition". The Blobs👁 Image

Sounds good. SWinxyTheCat (talk) 01:31, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

Update this page and remove outdated information

This will probably improve clarity. For example, this is what the level.dat format section may look like if updated to 1.16.5, with any old information removed. sjx233 (talk) 11:48, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Integer format

[edit source]
Latest comment: 18 December 20242 comments2 people in discussion

What's the format of integer values inside level.dat? How big are those integers (16bit, 32bit, 64bit)? What endianity they have? (Little endian or big endian)? – Unsigned comment added by 85.193.35.22 (talk) at 15:40, 18 December 2024 (UTC). Please sign comments with ~~~~

There are 4 different integer data types used in this article: byte (B), short (S), int (I), and long (L). Byte is 8-bit, short is 16-bit, int is 32-bit, and long is 64-bit. Java stores data in big endian. Rampage455 (talk) 21:17, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Incorrect format?

The page specifies a "DimensionData" tag, but I can't find one; it just goes straight to "DragonFight." Additionally, I have "NeedsStateScanning" tag under "DragonFight" which isn't shown on the page. EandCheckmark (talk) 20:18, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

I have this on a server running Minecraft 1.21.4 Fabric, so maybe Fabric is causing changes to the file structure? 208.102.135.32 01:42, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
I tried a vanilla world; it still just goes straight to "DragonFight." EandCheckmark (talk) 15:20, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

I notice that "<uuid>.dat: A data file of the player" listed as being inside the "session.lock" folder under the Directory Structure heading, which i think is a mistake.
