"Creative [JE Only], Survival"

I think this section (for example on puzzlebox.ogg) needs clarified. I'm not sure from the article whether this song:

a) plays only in Creative on Java Edition, and plays in both on Bedrock, or

b) plays only in Survival on Bedrock Edition, and plays in both on Java? Iron Ore (talk) 14:48, 19 January 2025 (UTC)

I've been able to verify these songs do play in Java Survival, so I'm guessing b) is the correct answer. Iron Ore (talk) 16:40, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
Generally the {{only}} template is used when a piece of information only applies to a specific edition, in this case it means "Survival (in both) and Creative (in Java but not in Bedrock)". I agree it's kinda ambiguous.--Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 16:52, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Not enough information regarding music playing in other versions of Minecraft

While I do know the Java has a trigger based system for the music playing, this doesn't apply for Legacy and Bedrock Edition. As their music would consistently play with sometimes short briefs (roughly a few songs or so) of silence. Diamondbluegirl (talk) 23:04, 23 April 2025 (UTC)

I think anytime you decide to split something you should always get opinions. This split template was put on the page by MinecraftBedrockPlayer7. So anywho, I think this should be discussed upon.

Reason for split: This page is hard to navigate with all long outdated tables in between. 👁 Image

Support. I think splitting these pages would be a good idea as it allows for easier navigation. I could see some searching problems but, it would add easier navigation and also just better organization. 👁 Image

Legacy Console Edition is technically historical/outdated information so for me it feels confusing to put that next to all current information. A hatnote at the top will direct readers to /Legacy Console Edition. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) 👁 Image

I agree that it can be confusing, thus, why I supported. The hatnote also solves my worry about search problems. I do think splitting these pages would be beneficial. 👁 Image

I don't think a change like this needs much discussion, I'll just do it when I get some time. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) 👁 Image

I just wanted some opinions cause you never know, sometimes people can think otherwise. Though, I don't think as you said much discussion will be needed anyway as I can see most people supporting this anyway. I don't see no reason to opposee it. 👁 Image

Proposal: Add when Sound Event categories were added to the game in the history

For example, "music.overworld.desert" is absent in 1.19.2, and seems to have only started getting songs made and targeted for it in Trails & Tales in 2023, even though deserts have been in the game for a while longer than that. I'm making a resource pack to add additional music to the modpack version I'm playing on, and while I can check in-game with the /playsound command, a full list somewhere sorted by age of the command would be useful for others, especially if trying to make one for multiple versions at once.
