Hold on...wood has a similar pattern to bricks, and fences are made of wood. It would make WAYYYYYY more sense if this was some kind of Netherwood. CDi-Fails 21:34, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

- Merging takes too much work. The fence article is already completely written with the wooden fence in mind. Adding the Nether Brick fence would require a rewrite, which is not recommended. - Asterick6 01:36, 18 March 2012 (UTC)

- Spiders will climb over the fences, but zombies, skeletons, creepers, and zombie pigmen all get stuck on it. Their pathfinding is currently (1.1) simple, and they won't go out of their way to walk through one of the gaps. The sections of each type of fence need to be at least 3-4 blocks long for this to work well. -- Orthotope 12:28, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
I'm shocked to see that information about mobs trying to jump over the fence are still here! This issue was fixed in 1.4.3 thanks to the Bug Tracker. Hello?? This article should really be merged with fence, as the two blocks have no difference other than blast resistance, and not connecting to each other. The former would be solved by a simple line in the infobox, and the latter by a signal sentence. –KnightMiner (t|c) 03:22, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

- Yes, sort of, although there are hundreds of blocks with the same hitbox as prismarine/bedrock, and they have other aspects that make them unique. For the fences, their hitbox is the only unique thing about them. Also, other similar articles have been merged due to hitbox, like slabs and stairs. –KnightMiner (t·c) 22:17, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
- I agree. There are only 2 differences besises decoration and the crafting recipe.
- Fences can be broken without a tool, but an axe is the quickest. Nether brick fence only drops something when broken with a pickaxe.

- So I take it you would also split the door article? There are only three differences here, blast resistance, required tool, and slight variation on obtaining. On the wooden fences, there already is major variation on the obtaining (only oak generates), so that already is minor.
