Specifically the lit version in Java Edition.
I'm confused, because the surrounding red glow should obscure the torch, as can be seen with the torch in Bedrock Edition. Why does it not? And more importantly, why does no one talk about this incredibly obvious and glaring oddity. Every time I see the darn thing my brain shouts "Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Impossible! Impossible! Impossible!". -- Simanelix (T|C) 20:29, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- Faces are back-face culled, so you only see their front sides. The red glow uses a cube with negative scale, which flips it so the front faces are on the inside and still visible. 👁 Image

- They changed the model so that, instead of an inverted cibe, it uses 6 flat planes that are transparent on the outside and red inside, but the result is the same.--Capopanzo (talk | contribs) 23:19, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, that is very interesting. -- Simanelix (T|C) 05:14, 7 September 2025 (UTC)
