Vibrant Versions and Deferred Rendering Pipeline

[edit source]
Latest comment: 21 June 20254 comments2 people in discussion

Since vibrant visuals is just the vanilla implementation of the DRP, it has the same features and their histories are closely aligned. As of right now, we don't have a page for the DRP, so I suggest that this page hold information for both Vibrant Visuals and the DRP, particularly in the History section and a section on customisation (via DRP packs). –MetalManeMc, πŸ‘ Image

Agree Also, I heard someone comparing the Super Duper Graphics pack to Vibrant Visuals, since they would both be the same thing: official Mojang support for shaders / modern graphics in Bedrock Edition. --Simanelix (T|C) 01:22, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
I should also note that according to RenderDragon, deferred rendering is supported by the RenderDragon engine. I'm pretty sure this means vibrant visuals is also deeply tied to the RenderDragon engine. Therefore, adding history related to RenderDragon might make sense. --Simanelix (T|C) 01:29, 3 June 2025 (UTC)
Basically the way it works is: RenderDragon is the game's rendering engine. On this engine is built multiple modes, including RTX and the DRP. Vibrant Visuals is just a vanilla DRP pack, similar to how in Bedrock texture come from a vanilla resource pack. –MetalManeMc, πŸ‘ Image

How to activate it? The page tells to just open Preview and enable the experimental toggle. I tested it on PS5 but it didn't work? Is there some setting that has to be enabled?

--FeedbackBot 14:30, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
True. You need to create a world with the experimental toggle on. Inside the world, you need to go to the Video settings (Pause menu). At the bottom of these settings, you can turn the graphics mode to Vibrant Visuals. This enables a lot more options below, including vibrant visuals. I know what is a PS5 Pro, the name was literally called " 5 Pro" (Note: I fixed it a long time ago.) Alisteveman12 (talk) 11:53, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
You said "What in the world is a PlayStation 5 Pro", I answered. No need to act like that. Gwen Stacy (talk) 12:05, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
Oh, I misread. I thought you said "PlayStation". Still no need to be like that. Gwen Stacy (talk) 12:07, 20 June 2025 (UTC)

For my switch after toggling game drop 2 2025 I see vibrant visulals turned off and I cant turn it on!!!!! 🀬 MoobloomMaven (talk) 19:29, 21 May 2025 (UTC)

First, you need to activate the "Vibrant Visuals" experiment, not the "Game Drop 2 2025" experiment. But Vibrant Visuals is not available on Switch although I'm not 100% sure. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image

Fatal Inaccuracy At Hardware Requirements.

[edit source]
Latest comment: 9 December 20254 comments4 people in discussion

From Minecraft's Official Blogpost, The hardware requirements for Vibrant Visuals on PC is DX 12, Not DirectX 12 Ultimate!

From a technical standpoint, the actual hardware requirement is DirectX 12 Feature Level 12.1.

This caused ibxtoycat's video to mention this fatal inaccuracy. Thus this needs to be discussed and changed ASAP. TpapTheMCWikier (talk) 17:00, 24 May 2025 (UTC)

I’m struggling to find where the wiki page states that DirectX 12 Ultimate is required. - Harristic / Talk πŸ‘ Image

note 4. Gwen Stacy (talk) 17:33, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
The "older cards supporting DirectX12 may not be compatible" could mean that Vibrant Visuals are not supported on cards running DX12 through the Feature Level 11.0. There are older games that require the FL 12.0 or newer to run and as such, will not play on cards on FL 11 such as the GTX 7xx series NVIDIA GPUs. --SargeCassidy (talk) 21:16, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

The original Xbox One

[edit source]
Latest comment: 12 June 20253 comments2 people in discussion

I tested this out on the original Xbox One, and unsurprisingly performance is pretty poor. Unless you have all of the fancy stuff turned down (aka the entire reason for Vibrant Visuals), the game begins to struggle, which is cursed for Minecraft. It hovers around the 20-28 FPS range if you have stuff turned up, the 30 FPS range at default, and even with everything turned down it caps out just below 50 FPS. Furthermore, it wouldn't even let me enable it in regular Bedrock, only in Preview, so this (original Xbox One support) wasn't the greatest idea on their part. πŸ‘ Image

28 fps is great if it's consistent. If I'm not mistaken though, some of the frames take like 100 ms. At least that's what I say in Toycat's video where he was testing performance. --Simanelix (T|C) 02:30, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
The FPS isn't consistent. Only if you're standing still or looking straight up or down, otherwise it fluctuates between 20 and 27 at best. πŸ‘ Image

The article implies that DirectX 12 is the only hardware required for Vibrant Visuals to function on PC. This is false, as there are additional hardware requirements which have not yet been conclusively determined.

Insightful Microsoft Community thread noting lack of transparency on Mojang's part: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/vibrant-visuals-not-working-on-dx12/e050584f-1f07-4e21-8552-74319ec116e2

Bug report on bugs.mojang.com, where a moderator claims that for Intel, Vibrant Visuals require at least the 31.0.101.3430 driver (11th gen and up) *in addition* to DirectX 12, which also runs on lower Intel drivers: https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE/issues/MCPE-216770

Vibrant Visuals compatibility on PC is a frequent source of confusion due to Mojang's lack of transparency regarding specific system requirements. Centralizing the findings above in the table under 'Availability' (perhaps in a footnote), or at least noting that there are additional requirements that are still TBD, would be beneficial.

--FeedbackBot 00:21, 5 July 2025 (UTC)
That would introduce speculation. Additional requirements will be added only if Mojang announces such. BDJP (t|c) 04:35, 7 October 2025 (UTC)

Appropriate navbox

[edit source]
Latest comment: 10 July 20256 comments3 people in discussion

Currently, this page is added to two navboxes: Events and New content. The latter is a temporary navbox and the events navbox is just because it has been announced at Minecraft LIVE but it doesn't actually refer to Vibrant Visuals itself. So, this page is lacking an appropriate navbox, and it's hard to find a fitting navbox for such a game aspect. I'll list a few ideas below, but not all of these should be used of course.

  • Template:Navbox dimension effects in the "Aspects" section, because Vibrant Visuals has certain dimension-related effects (weather effects, sun & moon effects, sky effects, cloud effects, end flashes)
  • Template:Navbox environment in a new section named "Graphical" or "Graphics" or something like that, because Vibrant Visuals really feels like a part of the environment. This section could also list some other graphical things such as Graphics settings or RTX.
  • Template:Navbox gameplay in the "Visuals" section. While Vibrant Visuals isn't really gameplay, that section still seems fitting. Some other articles in that section aren't really gameplay either (Color and related pages, or Screen effects)
  • Template:Navbox Bedrock Edition in the "Technical" section or the "Exclusive features" section. As long as it hasn't been released in Java Edition, it feels like a must to me to have this in the Bedrock navbox. The technical section would be fitting because deferred rendering and renderdragon, and other things related to Vibrant Visuals are customizable (..? I don't really know a lot about this). Exclusive features, because... it is an exclusive feature. But it sort of also feels like a "misc" section which I don't really like to put VV into.

I'd personally prefer to add it to the environment and Bedrock Edition navboxes because it really needs some more 'publicity' in the wiki but the page shouldn't be overloaded with random navboxes. I'm asking it here because I'm not sure in which navboxes and in which sections to put this into. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image

Vibrant Visuals will also need a sprite, but I don't know how to make those. It should include the shadows, directional lighting, water effects, and sky colors. Maybe a beach with some shadows and light falling into a cave? MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image

I've also removed the navbox event because this just doesn't make sense. We aren't adding the copper golem to that navbox either and I don't see a difference, they're both update features. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image

This article needs an icon. Any ideas?

--FeedbackBot 18:57, 22 September 2025 (UTC)
I totally agree. It should include the sun as a directional light source, being reflected on water, and maybe with a jungle tree casting a shadow (and also creating a water reflection), and a vibrant sky color. Those are the main aspects of Vibrant Visuals. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image

Codename

[edit source]
Latest comment: 2 October 20251 comment1 person in discussion

Vibrant Visuals has the internal codename of "Granite Bay." I have two pieces of evidence to support this claim: this discord message which was later edited (original version) and this facebook video URL. May be interesting to include as trivia if this is appropriate. Tryashtar (talk) 06:56, 2 October 2025 (UTC)

End Flash Section

[edit source]
Latest comment: 28 November 20254 comments3 people in discussion

The section on end flashes says that they are exclusive to Vibrant Visuals. How would this be changed, given that they were added to Java Edition in The Copper Age? I feel like it could say that they are exclusive to Vibrant Visuals in Bedrock Edition or that they are also in Java Edition, but I don't really know what the best way to say that would be. Fast385 (talk) 23:40, 22 November 2025 (UTC)

This article is completely written from a Bedrock perspective since Vibrant Visuals doesn't exist in Java. It shouldn't say that they are also in Java because this article is not at all about Java, that has nothing to do with Vibrant Visuals. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image
10:29, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
I agree, but I still think it sounds wrong to say that End Flashes are exclusive to Bedrock Edition. Maybe it could say exclusive to Vibrant Visuals in Bedrock Edition or something like that, but there might be a more correct way to say that. Fast385 (talk) 23:33, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
But this page is about Vibrant Visuals, not End flashes. The top of the page has the Bedrock exclusive feature message, which means the page is from a Bedrock PoV. πŸ‘ Image

Can someone actually provide information on the Hive enabling Vibrant Visuals? I am pretty sure that is does not have it enabled, unless it is on certain devices. ~2026-DragonPumpkinFish2098 (talk) 18:56, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

They might have added a new resource pack and forgot the "pbr" capability, or they intentionally disabled it. Maybe you can report it or ask it to people involved in The Hive, some links are here. MinecraftBedrockPlayer7 (talk) (contribs) πŸ‘ Image
