Door blockstates

[edit source]
Latest comment: 28 October 20235 comments2 people in discussion

Hey, I think because the block states are identical between all doors they should go on Doors, with links from the specific door pages. That is how the rest of the information is. I don't understand what you mean that having it on the central overview page is confusing for readers and editors Mudscape (talk) 00:09, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

I mean that having technical information in overview page is confusing, and i think we should split the block states pages like the flowers and slabs coming soon because in bedrock they are different, and this would also have sense if we are going to split more pages, but IDK. And sorry for the confusion, GXDdcZ123 00:10, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Is the technical information the same for all types of doors? I think that is an important factor, since users should expect data that is the same between all doors to be on the overview page. Mudscape (talk) 00:41, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
The only technical information that is the same is the block states (referring to things like the ID) but I feel that although there is a link to the page with the block state, as a reader I would expect that along with the ID there would also be the states, but don't worry, I'm not going to edit the page anymore and its only an idea (if someone thinks is vandalism again). GXDdcZ123 00:43, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for helping me understand, I've moved the block state info back to the overview page and left a link to it from the specific door pages so readers can know where to go for that information. I hope this fixes the problem of readers not knowing where the states are, and also doesn't duplicate too much information. Mudscape (talk) 00:58, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
And talking about this the slab block states in bedrock are different, so we are going to add the new info about the recent added blocks in the same block state page (because for them the deprecated/dont displayed block state do not function) and to remove the different flower block states pages (like Tulip/BS), GXDdcZ123, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

cobblestone stairs page

Latest comment: 16 November 20232 comments2 people in discussion

hi, i've given an attempt at splitting the stairs page (specifically give cobblestone stairs their own page), and while it was just a test, i think the result is pretty good. it can be found here: User:Kus/sandbox. i don't want to be a part of the granularity project yet since i'm undecided, so i shared this with you so you could publish it instead of me. Kus (talk) 09:30, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Looks pretty good, thanks for helping and contributing. - GXDdcZ123 20:05, 16 November 2023 (UTC)

Talk page replies should not be marked as minor edits

[edit source]
Latest comment: 27 November 20232 comments2 people in discussion

Hello, GXDdcZ123,

One thing of note with the talk page discussions is to not mark any replies being made on talk pages as minor. When new replies to discussions are marked as minor, it causes issues with people not getting notifications for talk pages, and missing new updates on the discussion.

It is fine if it's an issue such as fixing minor formatting mistakes, and then it's OK to mark it as a minor edit, but otherwise, in most instances, it shouldn't.

Thanks for the understanding. Delvin4519 (talk) 15:09, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Oh, yeah, sorry for that. - GXDdcZ123talk | contribs 👁 Image

In one of your recent edits to Block states, you changed or removed content or templates from a page without a valid explanation. In the future, make sure to leave a valid edit summary when changing or removing content, and do not remove any content if it's useful to the page. Please make use of the Minecraft Wiki sandbox or your own sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. BDJP (t|c) 21:32, 17 December 2023 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting my edit on the goat horn page.

It's accidental as I was rewriting the French wiki page for that item, based off the English page. Le Sharkoïste (talk) 00:44, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

Transfer command on Bedrock

[edit source]
Latest comment: 29 January 20244 comments2 people in discussion

I saw your edits on Commands/transfer (Java Edition). I think you may be mistaken. There is a command currently on bedrock called /transfer, but it does something completely different: Commands/transfer_(Education). But feel free to correct me if this changed in a recent version. — Misode (talk) 12:36, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

The transfer command that currently exist on Bedrock has the same/very similar function to the one added on Java, the command that you moved to include the name "Bedrock" is a command that was deprecated and probably a long time ago, and also the same with the Commands/place (Bedrock Edition) command, i dont think is nessesary put the edition name on commands that got deprecated years ago, probably should be changed to say other thing or just removed, but putting the edition name may be confusing. and I know that those command were removed years ago because all those were merged into sub-commands of the Commands/agent and the agent was added even before Bedrock started existing (Bedrock Edition 1.2.0), during Pocket edition (Pocket Edition 1.0.0), so these commands didn't even exist in Bedrock. I saw your images that You uploaded on the Wiki. Can you please tell me how you get those Isometric Images of Block, Item, Structures, Entities and Animations. This would be really appreciated by me.

HruthRuchir (talk)

I don't know how to make structures, animations, or other more complex renders, I usually make basic block renders, for those, Help:Isometric renders, hope this helps, you also can ask to other editors because I am not the best for this. - UnExpectedDino 👁 Image

Capitalisation of in-game names

[edit source]
Latest comment: 14 April 20243 comments2 people in discussion

Hi there! I was just looking at your edit that capitalized block/item names to be consistent with how they're formatted in-game. If I'm not mistaken, this goes against the established policy to keep in-game names in title case (Minecraft Wiki:Style guide#Do not capitalize), but I wanted to check that I wasn't missing any context before I reverted your changes. Thanks, MMK21 (talk) 18:32, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Those are titles not sentences. - UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 18:36, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Do you know that single quotes are also valid in SNBT

[edit source]
Latest comment: 17 May 20243 comments2 people in discussion

Your edit on data component format made me wonder, why did you change some of the single quotes to double quotes? — Misode (talk) 02:05, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

Because many of the examples use " rather than ' like on the block states component example, and i think they are more used than ', i know that they are also valid but it's to make it consistent, and if you want to change it back it's ok. UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 02:55, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
I also wondered why on the wiki uses most double quotes rather than single, for example the 1.20.5 changelog uses single quotes for examples,
Also maybe ask the person who put those examples or ask why mostly of the wiki uses double quotes as far i seen. UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 03:05, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

Why the revert edit on inv aliases?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 23 June 20247 comments2 people in discussion

Spawn Eggs on bedrock edition now use the same name format name like java. Also the spawn eggs from pandas, cats and wandering use a different texture

I added these before you added them, I didn't know that you would also add them. UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 05:41, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
You mean this?
I was thinking to replace them with the new name format but i avoided that in case that something breaks
'Spawn Panda',
'Spawn Wandering Trader' ESTEBAN1303YT (talk) 05:49, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
You can delete those, if they are no longer used in any page, I added the new names https://minecraft.wiki/w/Module:Inventory_slot/Aliases?diff=prev&oldid=2612364. UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 05:50, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Special:Diff/2671596 at Banner Pattern

[edit source]
Latest comment: 1 September 20244 comments2 people in discussion

So in an edit I replaced the generic banner pattern sprite with the upcoming specific ones in the list as people already did in the item navbox, and I also put a plausible edit summary for this, but you reverted it without explaining why. By just displaying a single sprite over and over, those sprites become unnecessary altogether. Is there a reason for this revert, why? It didn't clearly say it's in the future and can go confusing to readers (in regard to this, instead of reverting, you could add a bit of information to clearly state it's upcoming)? Thank you. Ooooooooo1 (T / C) 00:36, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

It's already in the history section, also in the edit that was reverted before you also explained this, "Until release". - UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 04:39, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
As I already mentioned, it is unnecessary to display a single sprite for each banner pattern in the patterns list. Whereas having an unique sprite for each banner pattern (no matter whether if it's truly in the game or not) lets readers get to know which one looks like. Think of certain schematic sprites. The schematic bookshelf top face has a divergent texture solely for illustration purposes, they don't appear in the game, and we could do the same in say, the banner patterns list. Also, the item navbox beared upcoming sprites as soon users found the new banner pattern textures. Ooooooooo1 (T / C) 09:09, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
Until release. - UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 12:41, 1 September 2024 (UTC)

"Creeper Charge" in 1.21.2?

[edit source]
Latest comment: 24 October 20243 comments2 people in discussion

I just removed the term "Charge", as I understand is correct at 1.21.2. The following command is accepted: "/give @s minecraft:creeper_banner_pattern", whereas the "charge" name is not. You overwrote that change, but I'm not sure you meant to. Do you have an issue with this change? BlueMeanial (talk) 23:56, 23 October 2024 (UTC)

That's the ID, not the name. UnExpectedDino ᐸ | contribs 23:57, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
