Fix issues with passwords and passkeys

You can save your contact and sign-in info, like passwords and passkeys, to Chrome. If it doesn't work when you let Chrome save your info, try these fixes.

You can manage passwords saved to your Google Account in Chrome or any other web browser at passwords.google.com.

Chrome doesn’t offer to save your passwords

You can still save your password to Chrome even if you aren't automatically asked to when you fill out a form.
  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Enter your info on the website you want to save the password for.
  3. On the right of the address bar, tap Passwords πŸ‘ Save your password
     πŸ‘ and then
     Save.

If you're on mobile or don't find the Key icon, delete your password and try to sign in again.

Delete your saved passwords

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. On the right of the address bar, tap More πŸ‘ More
    πŸ‘ and then
    Settings πŸ‘ and then
    Google Password Manager.
  3. Tap the password that you want to remove.
  4. At the bottom, tap Delete πŸ‘ Delete
    .
  5. To complete, confirm the password that you want to delete.

To delete all your saved passwords, delete browsing data and select "Passwords."

By default, Chrome offers to save your password. You can turn this option off or on at any time.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. On the right of the address bar, tap More πŸ‘ More
    πŸ‘ and then
    Settings πŸ‘ and then
    Google Password Manager.
  3. At the bottom right, tap Settings πŸ‘ Image
    .
  4. Turn off Offer to save passwords.
If Chrome doesn’t suggest a password, above the keyboard, tap Passwords πŸ‘ Save your password
 πŸ‘ and then
 Select password.

To use a saved passkey:

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. Go to the website’s sign-in page.
  3. Touch and hold the username or password field.
  4. Tap Select passkey or Use passkey.
