Introducing the AI Maturity Framework
Summary
15:00–16:00 CET (Geneva time)
This webinar will introduce the IPU’s tool Maturity Framework for AI in Parliaments through an interactive and engaging session, designed to help parliaments understand the benefits it offers them.
The AI Maturity Framework provides the first comprehensive, parliament-specific road map for navigating the transformation to AI. Developed by the IPU's Centre for Innovation in Parliament (CIP) through extensive collaboration with parliamentary staff and experts worldwide, this framework addresses the distinct needs of legislative institutions – from constitutional safeguards to democratic accountability requirements that don't apply to other sectors.
The AI Maturity Framework serves as both a mirror and a map: it helps parliamentary leadership understand where their institution currently stands in its AI journey, while providing clear guidance on practical next steps. Whether a parliament is just beginning to explore AI possibilities or is already implementing sophisticated applications, the framework offers relevant insights for strategic planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
Designed to complement the IPU’s Guidelines for AI in Parliaments and the IPU/ASGP Guide to digital transformation in parliaments, this framework translates high-level principles into actionable pathways, helping parliaments move confidently from awareness to implementation – and ultimately to innovation leadership.
