With the OpenMP-threaded John The Ripper cryptography software there was the obvious huge leap going from 16 to 64 cores between Graviton1 and Graviton4 while with Graviton4 is 1.5x the number of cores while still showing huge overall gains for this popular open-source crypto software.

Back when Graviton1 was introduced it failed to compete head-to-head against Intel and AMD processors at the time while now with Graviton4 as shown in other articles is able to compete with current EPYC and Xeon processors in a range of AArch64-friendly workloads.
