Debian 13 Showing 13% Performance Improvement Over Debian 12 On AMD EPYC
While code compilation can often times be slower when moving to a new major feature release due to additional language features and optimizations focused on better run-time performance, the move from Debian 12 to Debian 13 was delivering some very nice build speed-ups on this AMD EPYC Turin server.
OpenSSL as packaged by Debian Linux moved from OpenSSL 3.0 to OpenSSL 3.5 with Debian 13 and was showing some gains for different algorithms.
Database server workloads like ClickHouse were showing nice performance gains when running on Debian 13 with its Linux 6.12 LTS kernel.
PostgreSQL was also showing off some decent performance improvements when running on the new Debian 13.
