Debian 13 Showing 13% Performance Improvement Over Debian 12 On AMD EPYC

For HPC benchmarks and AI workloads too there were some nice performance improvements in moving from Debian 12 to Debian 13 on this 5th Gen AMD EPYC server.

Out of 130 benchmarks ran in full on Debian 12 and Debian 13, Debian 13 was faster 82% of the time.

When taking the geometric mean of all 130 benchmark results, Debian 13 was around 13% faster than Debian 12 on this AMD EPYC 9965 "Turin" server. This jives with what I have also seen out of Debian 13 on other hardware too that especially with the move from Linux 6.1 to Linux 6.12 and GCC 12 to GCC 14 along with all of the other package upgrades are some very meaningful performance improvements for those that stick to the stable Debian releases every two years. Look for Debian 13.0 officially debuting hopefully this weekend.
