Debian 13 Showing 13% Performance Improvement Over Debian 12 On AMD EPYC
The cryptsetup performance has improved very nicely with Debian 13. The cryptsetup gains here are due to the many AVX-512 crypto optimizations merged to the mainline Linux kernel over the past two years. Modern Intel and AMD CPUs with newer kernels can enjoy some very nice encryption/decryption performance improvements on newer kernels, so the upgrade from Linux 6.1 to Linux 6.12 LTS pays off very nicely here.
The Stress-NG kernel micro-benchmarks were also showing off some very nice performance improvements from the upstream Linux kernel over the past two years.
The upgrade from Linux 6.1 to Linux 6.12 on Debian helped out enhancing the AMD EPYC 9965 server performance.
