Intel Core Ultra 7 255H Linux CPU Performance
First up with the Firefox web browser benchmarks, with the relevant Speedometer 3 benchmark was an interesting showing for this Arrow Lake H laptop. Out-of-the-box the performance was similar to the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 found within the ASUS Zenbook S16 but once engaging the performance platform profile is where this Arrow Lake H laptop delivered the best performance out of the more than two dozen laptops tested under Linux. The ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 in its performance profile showed the best Speedometer 3 performance over the other laptops tested on Ubuntu at their defaults.
On a performance-per-Watt basis, the Core Ultra 7 255H within the ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 was outdone only by the tested Intel Lunar Lake devices.
With the Jetstream 2.0 browser benchmark in Firefox, the out-of-the-box performance in the balanced profile was rather low likely due to being tasked to one of the E/LPE cores rather than a P core. But when engaging the performance platform profile the Core Ultra 7 255H was able to spring to the front of the race. On a performance-per-Watt basis it was also very competitive and just behind Lunar Lake.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 with Core Ultra 7 255H was also performing well for WebAssembly browser workloads like PSPDFKit WASM.
Good web browser results for Firefox on Linux with this Intel Arrow Lake H laptop.
