The DDR5-8000 memory provided some slight benefit in the code compilation tasks over the DDR5-6400 DIMMs and was dancing with the Ryzen 9 9950X for the best code compilation performance on these desktop CPUs.

The Core Ultra 9 285K with its 24 cores between 8 P cores and 16 E cores all without Hyper Threading managed to compete with -- and often times outperform -- the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X for code compilation workloads even with the Zen 5 CPU at 32 threads/jobs. This top-end Arrow Lake CPU was proving quite useful for developer rigs or those running source-based Linux distributions. On average the CPU power consumption between the Core Ultra 9 285K and Ryzen 9 9950X tended to be similar during code compilation but the higher peak CPU power use was with the 285K.
