Intel Panther Lake Shows Strong Linux CPU Performance & Power Efficiency With Core Ultra X7 358H Benchmarks
With the web browser benchmarks on a raw performance basis when the laptops were running all in their default balanced performance profile, the Panther Lake laptop was aligned with the Zen 5 and Lunar Lake laptops...
But where things got interesting is when looking at the CPU power consumption being lower than all of the other laptops tested and an immediate victory for power efficiency over Lunar Lake and the tested AMD Ryzen AI competition.
Panther Lake was immediately interesting on Linux when looking at the CPU power efficiency.
In some of the web browser benchmarks with these laptops at their defaults the Panther Lake laptop was sometimes right behind Lunar Lake for raw performance but for power efficiency was a very sizable generational leap. For those wanting the raw performance to come out even better, there is the "performance" platform profile available that will be tested in a separate article as mentioned. The other modern laptops have platform profiles as well for those with a performance over power preference.
