The MariaDB database server also showed much better performance on Linux 6.6 and later. Though Linux 6.17 Git clocked in slower than Linux 6.16/6.12 as a possible regression but still far better off than where it was on Linux 5.15/6.1 kernels.

The FIO benchmark showed some of the raw I/O improvements on the newer versions of the Linux kernel for this AMD EPYC dual socket server.
