Hopefully Metro Exodus will come to Linux next year but for now Metro Last Light Redux remains the latest in the series and a demanding native OpenGL game. Here the RTX 2070 was slightly lower than expected with it just matching the GTX 1080 performance.

While Windows gamers now have Shadow of the Tomb Raider to enjoy, there doesn't appear to be any Linux release on the horizon with Rise of the Tomb Raider having just debuted for Linux earlier this calendar year. This Vulkan-powered game ported by Feral was again pegging the RTX 2070 performance right between the GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti. This allowed for mostly playable experiences on Ubuntu 18.10 up to 4K with high quality settings for the $500+ graphics cards.

Trying very high quality settings at 1440p proved to be a bit too much for the RTX 2070 and other graphics cards besides the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
