AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 Offers Competitive Workstation Graphics Performance/Value
The Radeon graphics cards performed quite poorly in the MEDICAL-O3 viewset, presumably due to some driver deficiency.
Aside from the MEDICAl viewset, the Radeon AI PRO R9700 was outperforming the NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation graphics card in the other SPECViewPerf 2020 benchmarks and delivering great value. The Radeon AI PRO R9700 can be successfully found in-stock for around the competitive $1299 USD price point.
For some Vulkan exposure, the native Linux builds of 3DMark were used. Here the Radeon AI PRO R9700 was performing similar to the W7900 and delivering much better performance and value than the RTX 4000 Ada Generation.
3DMark Solar Bay Extreme also recently rolled out a Linux build but unfortunately only privately available to vendors and reviewers. The Radeon AI PRO R9700 was delivering better performance here than with the W7900 and still successfully outperforming the RTX 4000 Ada Generation competition.
