The Ryzen 9 9900 series processors were compiling code faster with the newer GCC 14 and other software updates. The Ryzen 9 9950X though could still build the Linux kernel faster than the Core Ultra 9 285K.

The Ryzen 9 9950X was not only building the Linux kernel faster than the Core Ultra 9 285K but doing so with lower power use.

There were some evolutionary improvements made to compile speed since the AMD Ryzen 9000 series debuted last year. The Ryzen 9 9950X remained delivering better performance and lower power consumption than the Core Ultra 9 285K in these code compilation workloads.
