In some of the packaged Ubuntu applications like OpenSCAD for CAD there were small performance benefits running Ubuntu 25.04 beta on this AMD Zen 5 desktop.

👁 OSPRay Studio benchmark with settings of Camera: 1, Resolution: 1080p, Samples Per Pixel: 1, Renderer: Path Tracer, Acceleration: CPU. Ubuntu 25.04 Beta was the fastest.

For most workloads there were just small differences from upgrading Ubuntu 24.10 to Ubuntu 25.04 beta.

Those still on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS may see more to gain from going with Ubuntu 25.04 due to the switch from GCC 13 to GCC 14 along with other larger version leaps.
