From GCC 15 and/or other software upgrades, FFmpeg performance stood out as having some incremental gains across the board over Ubuntu 25.04 on the Framework Desktop.
👁 x265 benchmark with settings of Video Input: Bosphorus 1080p. Ubuntu 25.10 31 Aug was the fastest.
The x265 video encoder as shipped in the Ubuntu archive was also slightly faster on Ubuntu 25.10.
