The Perl interpreter performance was slightly faster with the -O3 packages.
👁 GEGL benchmark with settings of Operation: Color Enhance. Ubuntu -O3 Experimental was the fastest.

The GEGL imaging library used by GIMP and other applications benefited a small amount from the -O3 builds.
GNU Octave out of the Ubuntu archive also was slightly faster with the -O3 build.
Ditto for RawTherapee RAW image processing.
For kernel micro-benchmarks the -O3 experimental build was showing boosted performance.
