Attribute Booster is a series of cards whose effects primarily increase the ATK of monsters with a specific Attribute. The series includes four groups of cards, with each group consisting of six monsters or Spell Cards, and with effects that have a slightly different twist on the basic ATK boost premise. The cards in the series have generally been introduced in Core Boosters; the series was first introduced in Japan in Booster 2.
Each card in the series increases the ATK of monsters with a specific Attribute: the Equip Spell Cards and Field Spell Cards also decrease their Attribute's DEF; the Effect Monsters also decrease the ATK of the opposite Attribute; and the Link Monsters also increase the DEF of their Attribute and decrease the ATK and DEF of the opposite Attribute. The Attributes are paired LIGHT with DARK, EARTH with WIND, and FIRE with WATER.
- The Equip Spells, first released in Japan in Booster 2 and internationally in Tournament Pack: 1st Season (except for "Sword of Dark Destruction" and "Invigoration", which were instead released in Starter Deck: Yugi and Starter Deck: Kaiba, respectively), increase the ATK of their Attribute by 400 and decrease its DEF by 200.
- The Effect Monsters, first released in Japan in Vol.6 and internationally in Metal Raiders, are Level 2 monsters (except for the Level 1 "Milus Radiant") which increase the ATK of their Attribute by 500 and decrease the ATK of the opposite Attribute by 400.
- The Field Spells, which were released in Japan in Pharaoh's Servant and internationally in Magic Ruler, increase the ATK of their Attribute by 500 and decrease its DEF by 400.
- The Link Monsters, which were released in Core Boosters from Code of the Duelist to Cybernetic Horizon, have 1400 ATK and are Link 2 with bottom-left and bottom-right Link Arrows, and are the same Type as their Effect Monster counterparts; they increase the ATK and DEF of their Attribute by 500 and decrease the ATK and DEF of the opposite Attribute by 400, and additionally, once per turn they can add one monster with their Attribute from the GY to the hand when they are destroyed.
