Kyiv region has received 509 generators in recent weeks, and in general, more than 4,600 units of power equipment are operating in the region, which ensures the critically important energy stability of communities during the war, said head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk.
"In Kyiv region, authorities continue to steadily build up the energy resilience of local communities. Over the past several weeks, the region has already received 509 generators with a total capacity exceeding 5.3 megawatts. The assistance was provided by international partners β Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the U.N. Refugee Agency, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as humanitarian organizations and charitable foundations," according to a statement published on Telegram.
Overall, 4,636 generators with a combined capacity of more than 100 megawatts are currently operating in the region. At the same time, communities in the Kyiv region are developing systemic solutions: 56 cogeneration units are in operation, along with a gas turbine facility with a capacity of 145 megawatts, 36 mobile boiler plants wit
"Distributed generation now covers about a quarter of the regionβs energy needs. βWe continue to work to ensure that the Kyiv region is as autonomous, protected and resilient as possible to any challenges. Our main task is to ensure that people have heat, electricity and confidence in tomorrow even during the war," Kalashnyk said.
